FROM GRIEF TO ACTION
Meet Bo
After his wife passed, a hospice nurse who devoted her life to caring for others, Bo searched for a way to keep her close. He found it in humble service as a volunteer with The Hospice of Baton Rouge, work that became steady and sacred. With an easy smile and a listening ear, he offers comfort and companionship to patients in need. In every hand he holds and every story he hears, her love still moves quietly through the world.

Bo moves through the world with a quiet kind of light, the kind you only notice when you’ve known the dark. His presence feels like warmth in a small room, steady and unassuming, carrying the true heart of hospice care. We appreciate him not only for what he does, but for the hope and comfort he offers, shaped by a life acquainted with deep loss. Grief did not harden him; it opened him.
Read Bo's poem, The Vanity, below, and step into his reflection on love, loss, and the tender work of caring for others who are learning how to carry it, too.
